Over the past five years, we have honored this commitment by more than doubling our multiplication footprint in North America, with the Cando system being our most recent investment.

Welcoming Cando to our Portfolio

We have heard the demand for the AcuFast Vantage loud and clear. In response, we are excited to share our new investment: the Cando system. This investment amplifies AcuFast’s growth trajectory and increases the availability of the AcuFast Vantage, benefiting commercial producers from Montana to the Midwest.

Notable Features of the Cando System

• Size & Scale: The comprehensive setup, with a 6,000-sow capacity, has its own office, feed mill, truck wash, distribution center, nurseries, and the capacity to finish all gilts produced. 

• High-level biosecurity: Located in the remote area of Cando, ND, the system benefits from natural isolation. Combined with its self-contained operations, the Cando system maintains a pristine track record in biosecurity.
• Product Quality & Health: The Cando system has earned a long-standing reputation for maintaining excellent health standards. The dedicated team, many of whom have been with the farm for over a decade, ensures product quality at every stage of production.
• Genetic Innovation: More than just a multiplier, Cando aligns with AcuFast's core vision and values, enabling us to drive innovation in our operations. The experienced team leverages tools, like genomic selection, to reduce genetic lag, ensuring we consistently deliver superior genetics. 
• Unique Capabilities: With its finishing space, the Cando system offers the unique ability to undertake breeding projects.

These features collectively ensure that we deliver a consistently high-quality product across our multiplication network, all while maintaining the highest standards of biosecurity.

Originally part of the HyLife system, Cando has a rich history of multiplying for AcuFast (formerly Fast Genetics) during and after our ownership by HyLife. For a brief period, it operated in commercial production for HyLife.

Cando employs nearly 40 dedicated employees, many of whom were part of the original multiplication operations for HyLife. We are thrilled to welcome this talented team to AcuFast and thank them for their commitment during this transition.
