Exploring New Horizons: Growing Your Career with AcuFast

In honour of Labor Day and National Trucking Week, we would like to highlight two employees who embody the spirit of AcuFast: Jose Lopez and Glenn Cepe. They are not just predicting the future—they are creating it.

Originally production staff at AcuFast, both Jose and Glenn have diverse experiences and tenures within our farms. However, they each decided they wanted a change and took bold steps to pursue their passions.

Glenn’s journey at AcuFast began in the farms, working his way up to management. His goal has always been to learn more. “My motivation is always what more can I learn while working,” he says. His curiosity and drive led him to take a career turn, to working in our feed mill as a miller, where he then discovered his true passion: trucking and transportation.

Jose’s path, although similar, had different motivations. “Ever since I was a kid, I watched semi-trucks very closely and always thought that someday I wanted to work in that industry,” he recalls. He joined the swine industry and worked in our farms as a swine technician until the opportunity arose to work in trucking and transportation.

Both Glenn and Jose acknowledge that following their dreams and changing career paths came with challenges. AcuFast played a key role in supporting their transitions, providing essential training and guidance. ‘AcuFast's investment in my training has been the cornerstone in the development of my new career,’ Jose emphasizes.

In their new roles as livestock and feed truck drivers, both Glenn and Jose enjoy working with new colleagues and exploring diverse landscapes from their driver’s seats. Their previous experiences within AcuFast have proven invaluable, offering unique insights into their current responsibilities. Glenn notes, “I was the one ordering feeds, this has benefited me so much because I know every ration that I am delivering, the location, lay out of the bins and the capacities.”

Jose and Glenn are thriving in their new roles. They both agree that driving a semi-truck for the first time, although challenging, was a memorable experience for which they thank AcuFast.
