Swine Production (Wean-to-Finish Genetics) Summer Internship — 2026

AcuFast is seeking motivated college students passionate about agriculture to join our Production Internship (Wean-to-Finish Genetics). You’ll gain hands-on experience raising pigs sustainably while learning how disciplined production and data collection protect genetic integrity. This is a mobile role across Illinois sites, and the program also offers the potential for full-time employment after graduation.

What You’ll Do

• Follow and practice biosecurity protocols (shower-in/out, downtime), supported through training.
• Learn and perform wean-to-finish production routines to deliver the highest standard of animal care. Assist with animal movements during testing and trailer loading/unloading.
• Build an understanding of AcuFast genetic lines and business structure. Learn genetic and quality protocols; participate in on-farm data collection (including ultrasound techniques).
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts within our Quality Management System. Complete a summer project and present your findings at internship close-out.
• Engage with leaders across AcuFast.

Work Environment

• Roles involve early starts, weekend/holiday rotations, and physical livestock care. Strict biosecurity protocols (shower-in/out, downtime) are essential and will be clearly explained during training.
