Human Resource Generalist

As we continue to grow, we are seeking an HR Generalist to join our Human Resources team. Reporting to the Manager of Human Resources, this full-time role will be responsible for HR administration, benefits management, recruitment coordination, and ensuring compliance with HR policies and procedures. This position will include the following responsibilities and day-to-day functions but is not limited to:
HR Support & Administration:
- Maintain accurate HR records, employee files, and HRIS data.
- Assist with employee onboarding, including new hire documentation, background checks, and orientation.
- Support compliance with employment laws, policies, and procedures.
- Provide administrative support in HR projects and initiatives.
Benefits & Employee Relations:
- Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollment, updates, and responding to inquiries.
- Provide guidance to employees on HR policies, benefits, and programs.
- Assist in tracking and reporting on employee leave, accommodations, and other HR matters.
- Support employee engagement initiatives and coordinate corporate events.
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition:
- Assist with recruitment efforts, including posting jobs, screening applications, scheduling interviews, and coordinating communication with candidates.
- Develop and update job descriptions and job requisitions.
- Support recruitment and retention strategies in collaboration with the HR team.
Health & Safety Support:
- Assist in maintaining and enforcing occupational health and safety (OH&S) policies and procedures.
- Support workplace injury investigations, OH&S audits, and incident tracking.
- Coordinate and track employee safety training such as First Aid, WHMIS, and H2S.
- Ensure compliance with provincial and federal OH&S regulations.
- Participate in occupational health and safety meetings and assist in implementing safety initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- 1-3 years of experience in an HR role.
- A degree or diploma in Human Resources or Business Administration (or equivalent work experience).
- Experience with HRIS and time-tracking systems (familiarity with Paycor, Dayforce, or similar HRIS- time tracking payroll platforms is an asset).
- Knowledge or experience in OH&S policies and workplace safety programs is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a team-oriented approach.
- Capable of handling confidential, sensitive, and personal information,
- Strong planning and organization skills to determine priorities with strict deadlines,
- Strong organizational skills with superior attention to detail,
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment,
- Self-starter with a strong sense of accountability and adaptability,
- Team player with the ability to work with minimal supervision, collaborate, interact, and build effective relationships across and at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to travel within Saskatchewan including to Spiritwood, SK.
