AcuFast is looking for a highly motivated college student who is passionate about agriculture research and thrilled to join us in creating the future of pork production. We have initiated our hiring process to fill our Research Technician Summer Internship- 2024 position for our Saskatoon Research Lab. Successful candidates will be working with innovative thinkers who will provide a well-rounded summer experience with dedicated mentors to provide company business research insights.

This position will include the following responsibilities and day-to-day functions, but is not limited to:

• Training and performance of specific andrology and genetic lab tasks such as
• Flow cytometry for sperm QC.
• Improve the sex sorting process by cytometry.
• Laparoscopic insemination of sex sorted semen.
• Surgery embryo collection and embryo culture.
• Spermiogram and sperm dose quality control.
• An understanding of AcuFast genetic lines and business structure.
• Opportunity to interact with leaders within AcuFast.
• Performing other general duties as assigned.

The successful candidate would ideally possess the following experience and qualifications:

• Must be authorized to work in Canada,
• Pursuing a diploma or degree in animal science, biology, veterinary, or any similar related field,
• Previous research or laboratory experience would be considered an asset,
• Excellent interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills with great attention to detail,
• Experience with Microsoft Office,
• Excellent communication skills,
• Self-motivated, team player, and reliable,
• Shares in AcuFast’s core values.
